Since its inception in 2009, the MineSAFE Conference has established itself as a premier event on the mining industry calendar. The main aim of the Conference is to advance the achievement of Zero Harm in the South African mining industry by bringing together management, the DMR, Chamber of Mines, unions and health and safety practitioners at all levels of industry to share best practice and share strategies for achieving this goal.
During the Technical Conference, delegates can look forward to high-level presentations from leaders in the industry, focusing on all issues related to safety, health and environmental protection. The Technical Conference leads into the Industry Awards Day aimed at recognising and rewarding companies that have achieved significant success in their journey to Zero Harm.
The Conference is jointly organised by the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM), the Association of Mine Managers of South Africa (AMMSA) and the South African Colliery Managers Association (SACMA), with valuable input from the Department of Mineral Resources, Chamber of Mines, The Mine Health and Safety Council, the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM), Solidarity and UASA The Union.
